This piece was made to share the familial bond between a mare and her foal. Horses are deeply emotional animals, this is demonstrated through their close stance. The mare’s stance of being over the foal's back shows the protective nature of their surroundings. Charcoal gave me the most efficient way to showcase this calm and unique relationship best.
